History of the Company:
The history of JSC "MU-3" dates back to 1929, the year of the beginning of construction work at Chelyabinsk Cogeneration Plant - the first-timer of "GOELRO" (the State Plan of Electrification of Russia). The company acquired its official legal status in 1941 as an enterprise specialized in electrical installation of electric power stations and substations. In the years of full swing of power plant construction in the USSR, the experts of "MU-3" under the order of the Ministry of Energy of the USSR performed electrical installation work and assembly of instrumentations over a huge territory of the Chelyabinsk and Orenburg regions, Bashkir ASSR, Northern and Western Kazakhstan.
"MU-3" was responsible for the installation of electrical part and instrumentations of all the 110-500 kilovolt electric power stations and substations of "Chelyabenergo" and "Kurganenergo", 300 - 800 mvt power units on Iriklinskaya, Reftinskaya and Permskaya Hydroelectric Power Plants, the reactor on fast neutrons BN-600 of Beloyarskaya Nuclear Power Plant, the power-supply units of all the large enterprises of the Chelyabinsk region.
In the years of the reforms "MU-3" did not fully stick to its electric power industry trend, quite the contrary, with its staff of highly qualified specialists in electrical installation, it easily joined building and reconstruction complex work at ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy plants, on mineral resources and petrochemical industry, housing and social projects.
For the last two or three years we can especially distinguish the participation in commissioning of the new facilities: two stove-busket units and the continuous steel casting plant at ChMK (Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Industrial Complex), the duplex polymeric coating line for pipes and other materials at ChTPZ (Chelyabinsk Pipe-Rolling Plant), 12 and 30 mvt turbo-generators at ChMK Cogeneration Plant, the road bitumen plant in the town of Vakhrushevo, the repository for light oil in Oktyabrsky, the stove-busket units at MMK (Magnitigorsk Metallurgical Plant) and "Uralmash" (an automaker), the reconstruction of "Zlatoust", "Kropachevo" and "Chelyabinsk" 500 kV substations, the new fully automated 500 kV substation "Berkut" in the Tumen region, two arc steel-smelting furnaces at ChEMK (Chelyabinsk Electro-Metallurgical Plant) and a great deal many other facilities.
The key factor of our company's successful work first and foremost is highly qualified staff with experts specialized in all the electrical installation areas present. They are a mobile crew able to relocate in any region nationwide in a few days to solve any task of both common electrical installation and installation and repair of high-voltage and extra-high-voltage power transformers and reactors of any voltage class, heavy-duty stationary storage batteries, installation of cable lines from 0.4 to 110 kilovolt high and CAPP systems.
Engineering personnel of the adjustment and alignment department of MU-3 perform not only metering and special check-out procedures, adjust and setup electrical equipment and relay protection and automation facilities, including those on the microprocessor base, but are also a specific quality control department for the whole company leading to its successful work.
Currently JSC "MU-3" has its permanent personnel of 380 experts, more than 50% of them have higher education or specialized secondary education. Besides circuit installers of all specialties, instrumentation mechanics and setup men there are electro-gas welding operators on the list permitted to perform welding work on projects under "Kotlonadzor" surveillance. The welders perform welding of materials made of aluminum and copper alloys.
JSC "MU-3" has a long-term and strong partnership with the Faculty of Power Engineering of YuUrGu (Southern Urals State University), Chelyabinsk Technical School of Power Engineering and College of Installation Work. Future graduates of these educational institutions do their practical work in JSC "MU-3", thus forming a system of staff renewal and replenishment. All personnel periodically but no less than once in three years undergo extension courses to refresh their qualifications without fail.
